July 3 marked our return to NCCC’s social events with a “July 4th” ride and lunch celebration.
Several members were appropriately clad in red white and blue outfits. In total sixty five members and guests signed up for the event held in the open air at the Agua Hedionda Discovery Center.
Following rides somewhat shorter than usual, members enjoyed sandwiches, chips cookies and ice cream.

Followers of international politics may be interested that President Biden gifted Boris Johnson at the G7 Meeting with a bicycle entirely custom made in the USA. Of note is that the saddle was provided by Selle Anatomica of Poway. I know that several of you have saddles from this supplier, so maybe your rear is accommodated on an identical saddle to Boris’s. I understand these saddles come in various sizes including one which should accommodate even Boris’s ample proportions and ego.
Since our re-start fifteen new member have joined our club. This month we welcome Dean Harried, Monica Irmler, Jon Penner, Andie Hutchinson, Cathy Bucher, Manya Hult, Debra Caro mostly with Clippers; Brook Hegemann, Edward Desmond, Cody Barnes, Kevin Prochaska and Robert Bernhard, mostly with Roadies. Please say Hi to these new members when you meet them.
