Hey Bill, I thought our next Pie Ride was going to be on the weekend of March 24. If I'm not mistaken, you have the Pie Ride down for the 25th in your personal calendar. So, what's this erroneous schedule I see on the NCCC website?
I'm with Nerius. Where's our Pie Ride? Already have my heart set on 3 pies and no snow.
Ursula
Wait a minute, Nerius. I thought you committed to the Solvang Double after you cruised through the Borrego death ride last Sunday. Some of us (me, Anthony, Evelyn at least) would prefer another weekend for the pie ride repeat as we'll be out in Solvang Mar 24-25.
Yeah, What's up with doing the pie ride when I'm not available? Nerius, why aren't you doing the double?
Why even consider the pie ride if it ain't going to snow......but I can't wait to do it again. Oh wait, I didn't do it last time and frankly there is still a question in my mind if the ride actually ever did happen. There has still been no verification. And now Nerius wants to schedule the ride when no one is around......very suspicious.....
Lol Sean.
Hrm, for the Solvang Double, it's a bit of a big commitment, meaning all the driving and the motel etc. I just don't think I'm that serious about it. Would rather just chill in San Diego.
Yeah I guess we can do the Pie Ride some other time. But sometime soon! I hope it won't conflict with my races in April.
How about April 1st for the pie ride - no fooling!
Just because there was a Bigfoot sighting during the last Pie Ride doesn't mean it was only a legend. I know it happened because I can vividly remember the NON-GRANDE Mesa portion which was so much worse than the cold and wet and fear Bigfoot might attack......on Non-Mesa Grande and I'd have to try to keep up so I didn't get LFD and/or then lost. So, when we get to the Mesa, will someone with a triple switch with me....Wade? :P
Anthony,
Can you take your camera this time to get some good shots of bigfoot to put these rumors to rest?
And no worries on Non-Grande Mesa....my plan is to be the last up the hill at the risk of bigfoot making some insulting comments about my riding skills. So to set the record straight, it is my plan to be last up....it is not a reflection on my hill climbing prowess. Then again, isn't it true that they pick off the weakest and slowest....given bigfoots fondness for our club rides maybe it is better not to be last for fear of becoming bigfoot food. Any volunteers for taking up the rear?
So if we're really on board for AFD, please confirm, and I'll change out Breakfast With Altitude for Pie With Attitude, for that Sunday ride. - Karl
Love it - Pie With Attitude (and altitude)! I'm totally in!!
Yes!
I really think we need a third slice at the end. Escondidoites can advise of the closest pie shop.
I think a third piece of pie is a great idea Karl, with a shake though!
Great ride today, thanks to everyone for the support to me and my better half, Lynn.
Sean, after flats up Del Dios, I did get a gilmpse of what I think was the mythical legend.....bigfoot
Anthony,
Very scary that you got that close to the now documented often violent bigfoot. I am impressed that the photo is so clear given the fear you must have endured to be that close. I can now understand where the nickname comes from as that is truly an unusually large foot.
My guess is that bigfoot has taken to hunting cyclists as the foot is not only clean shaven it is also disguised in a cycling shoe. Clearly an attempt to trojan horse the peleton and spring when we least expect it. Let's all watch each other backs to stay safe.
Anthony,
Looking at photo #1, it seems you are taking the task of finding Bigfoot very seriously. Good on you. You should be worried because I did come across a sighting of an even larger footprint (see photo #2) this weekend. So, it seems the photo of the unusually large foot in your photo somewhere along scary Elfin Forest doesn't look all that large and dangerous to me. In fact, it looks awfully close to a size 9 which is fairly normal among today's size standards for feet. I know your good friend & riding buddy, Sean, was busy fixing a flat on some uphill portion of the ride and couldn't help you in your quest to find the true and dangerous Bigfoot, so I thought I would at least send you a photo of what Bigfoot really looks like (see photo #3) and what he/she may be up to next time you are riding through the wilds of North County. I would watch my back if I were you and don't let your bike out of your sight. Oh, and clue Sean in too. ;D
