Thanks for your efforts at the Encinitas City Council meeting, Judy.
If you see the lane marking in person you'll notice that the bike lane is VERY wide, wide enough to fit three cyclists abreast safely.

Hopefully if we don't get rain the full treatment will be finished this week with Sharrows Southbound as well and Northbound through the rest of downtown Encinitas.   We have the full lane to control.  Use the sharrows as a guide to correct placement within the lane. This makes us visible, giving motorists plenty of time to change lanes without trying to pass too closely within the same lane.

I road both south and north from Carlsbad to Solana Beach.. The sharrows are now down from La Costa to Swamis in both directions.  It was really nice to ride on, controlling the full lane.  I didn't get honked at and chatted the whole way.. much more relaxing ride.
