Title: Hike to Better Bike - Double Peak
Post by: Margareth Demery on December 07, 2013, 07:40:04 PM
Looks like some of you were not able to ride today because of rain in your area - sorry about that, but you have a chance to keep those legs in shape - Lets do an "After The Rain Hike" to better bike... A small group did get a ride in today before the rain paid a visit - chilly, but nice.

Departing at 10:00 a.m.
Discovery Lake Park
650 Foxhall Dr
San Marcos, CA  92078

A moderate/difficult trail climb from the start at Discovery Lake to Double Peak. At 1644 ft, the second highest peak in the Cerro de Las Posas Mountains of San Marcos, CA. Should be a clear day, clean crisp cool air. We should have a beautiful view of from top of the peak towards the west - the Pacific Ocean and coastal lagoons. Mt. Baldy, San Jacinto Peak & Old Greyback in the San Bernadinos to the North and an east view of Palomar Mountain and Cuyamacas.

We will take a snack break at the top before descending back.
About a 6.3 mile hike. Your pets are welcome (leash required).
