Lots of signatures may help, but, remember, it took three tries to get the 3 ft law into effect. The second try had this language and it was vetoed by Gov. Brown to avoid liability. Good new is that I've found that the motorists who see you give more like 6 ft when passing and even on the twelve foot lanes all around the county with double yellow, motorists typically will cross it when safe to do so. Local law enforcement acknowledges they would probably not cite a motorist doing that, though they would never state that publicly. Nevertheless, it would be great to have that specific language in the books.
