Title: Idaho Stops In CA
Post by: Will King on March 04, 2017, 10:56:12 AM
Seems like there is a bill making its way in the State to legalize cyclist treating stop signs as yield signs

There was an article in the U-T this past week about this. Would be nice, but don't know how likely it is that it will pass in this state. Law enforcement seems to win out in a lot of these cases and they don't like it. Governor wouldn't sign the 3 foot passing law with the part of it in there about allowing cars to cross yellow lines to pass. Guess we'll see what happens.

I agree that it is unlikely to pass. San Francisco tried doing this but got shut down by the Major. Jerry Brown could use the same argument about opening the state to lawsuits as he did with the double yellow line. But yeah , never hurts to make a quick phone call to your state rep to support the bill.
