Encinitas Marathon is Sunday, March 4, so the 101 is closed.
Thanks for the heads up, Anthony. Specifically, the closure is from Lomas Santa Fe in Solana Beach north to K St in Encinitas. The Sunday ride IS traveling up 101 near the end this Sunday. They reach Lomas Santa Fe at mile 45, 3 hrs into the ride and after the rest stop at the Mobil before the 56 bike path. So, the ride would have to average more than 15 mph including that rest stop to be impacted. That may be close. I'll advise the group that if they really are hurrying that day and get there before 11:30, they could turn right at Lomas Santa Fe and head up the hill past I-5 to bypass the closure via the El Camino Real corridor, cutting back to the coast anytime they want. They would have to average 17 mph and take a 20 minute break at the Mobil to get there exactly at 11:30. They should be good unless someone puts down the hammer and wants a quick stop to boot 8)
