All - A stretch of Hwy 101 northbound in Cardiff will be closed from Feb 4 to July, so the bike lane will be gone and everyone is instructed that bicyclists must use the northbound travel lane. This shouldn't discourage NCCC routes through this area, but all riders and ride leaders should be aware.

The bicycling community has weighed in and changed the configuration during the ~5 months of construction. The construction will now include temporary restriping of Hwy 101 to maintain both the 2 travel lanes and a 5 ft bike lane. The previous temporary configuration was to require cyclists to control the #2 lane, something that many are comfortable with, but probably not the majority of those who historically ride this very heavily used section (one of the highest counts from the automated counting system installed along 101).
