As leader, you are free to do as much or as little as you want. It is your ride, so be creative and make it fun. Here are some things that you might consider doing as leader.
- Ensure that a route is communicated to riders. I have been setting up short ride routes and notifying the newsletter and website of the Regular and Short rides up to now, and I am willing to continue to do this. You can choose to make up your own route. That would be great, but you have to prepare it a month in advance so it can be put in the newsletter and on the website.
- Social director
- New ride greeter
- Familiar with the roads
- if you see a rider in trouble, ask if they need help (you don?t have to provide it)
- Chastise miscreants
- Ride sag
- Ride lead
- Tell riders when to leave regroups and breaks
1. If you would like to lead a ride and would like me to make up a route slip, Email me at Jeff@FullCommitment.com and tell me what date you will lead and that you want me to make a route slip.
2. If you would like to lead a ride and would like to make up your own route:
--> Make up a route of 27-35 miles. You might play with www.mapmyride.com to do this, but I find that site awkward. Karl likes www.bikely.com, and he uses the online mappers more than I do. I use DeLorme Topo software that I have on my computer, but maybe you have Microsoft Streets or something else. Or you can make up a route and drive it to see how far it is. Or you can guess (good luck!).
-->Email me at Jeff@FullCommitment.com and tell me what date you will lead and that you will make up the route. I am in charge of ride leader coordination - who has what date.
Then email the route information for the newsletter and for the website by the 15th day of the preceding month (newsletter deadline), to this email list:
docbmiranda@gmail.com,krudnick@roadrunner.com,jeff@fullcommitment.com,williamkamm@hotmail.com,loumedi@cox.net
Check back here in this topic for an updated list of dates still open. So far - no ride leaders for April.
Sincerely,
Jeff Gross

Looks like Dee has the lead for April 4 ride..... Except she's not turning around until she sees the Atlantic.
So I'll take the next one, April 11.
