Title: Century Part 5 90 miler
Post by: Bob Burgess on June 02, 2009, 07:20:35 AM
Who is planning on doing this on Saturday?

I don't want to be the only one sitting in the parking lot at 7am.

Gruppo:
On last year's training ride we had lots of fun. errrrr... like the Mongols MClub were having their annual meet and we were visited by 4 patrol cars/officers packin' heat on the Rincon Grade climb!
Jeff was speechless, no doubt!

If there is more action like this, count me in, ala achilles recovery limits.

I did finally make it to the top before 1pm and back to San Marcos, 3:45pm.  I was beat down, but I made it.
I suppose that I need to do more tempo/endurance work to keep my heart from jumping out of my chest.  I put the big cogs on, but that just means I had to pedal faster.  I suppose that I could have just pedaled slower ?     Big cogs aren?t the silver bullet.  But I am glad I had that option on this hill.  It is relentless.

Anyone get a reading on how much climbing we did today?
