Recon Part 2 on Saturday....
This is a recon ride for a revamped route of the RUSA ToughRider 600 route.
The original TR-600 route was too tough, going up Santiago Peak, etc. so this is the alt route around the peak.
Leave O'side Station on MetroLink # 856sat at 7:45AM
Arrive West Corona at 9:08.. start ride.

No, there isn't 30 miles of 14% grades on dirt roads like last time.. sorry!
Route goes almost immediately onto the SART Trail.
Then southward onto Santiago Canyon Road through open country, skirting Santiago Peak.
Rollers till Oak Park Canyon and on southward to Antonio Pwky to Ortega Hwy@ San Juan Capistrano.
Bike Path to Coast.
Bike Path to Camp Pendleton, back to O'side Transit.
Only 84 pleasurable miles!
Several refuel stops.
Rollers, not much climbing.
Santa Ana River Trail, Santiago Canyon open country & Bike Route back from San Juan Capistrano.
Metro Fare: $9.50 experienced riders, $6.25 more experienced riders
No extra charge for lightweight carbon fibre bikes!
No MTB required.
No body armor required.
No 29 x 2.25 knobbies either!
No Lights required.

Looks like a small group.
This could be another semi-EPIC route.
Good alt for the Saturday NCCC club ride..
Think out of the box and check out some new routes up north.
