When you're going out past the San Clemente campgrounds, check out the new "sharrows" - share the road arrows - where the chevron indicates where you should be safely riding. These are starting to crop up in Oceanside as part of its "bicycle friendly community" designation. The two pictures are from the frontage road to San Onofre on the new pavement in the middle of the #2 lane over the northern most bridge leading toward San Clemente/Basilone Rd. Courtesy of Dolores and Pete Penseyres. Learn about sharrows and much more at the Traffic Skills 101 class (http://www.sdcbc.org/classes.htm).
