The snapshot below shows how to signup and/or renew for primary and additional family memberships as of Jan 1, 2023. Note there are no longer separate Senior levels and we have a flat $20 for single (primary for family) members and $10 for each additional family member.

Website / Not receiving emails from nort...
Last post by karlos - March 10, 2023, 10:04:50 AM
All active NCCC members should receive regular email communications From: comms@northcountycycleclub.org. Additionally, we have configured active members to receive notifications of new topics to the Club Rides & Events board on this NCCC Forum - these are From: admin@northcountycycleclub.org. If you are not receiving these regular emails, you may need to whitelist all email from our domain northcountycycleclub.org. Every mail app provides the ability to nominate trusted senders, and in our case, any email from an account@northcountycycleclub.org can be trusted. For example, if you use gmail primarily, go to https://www.dailystory.com/blog/how-to-whitelist-an-entire-domain-in-gmail/. If you use another mail service, search for "whitelist domain" for your service or contact their support. Feel confident that all emails from our domain are delivered by a trusted mail server. If you click on delivery details as in the snapshot, you will see all the security checks that we pass. So there is no risk in your whitelisting northcountycycleclub.org.

Club Rides & Events / Saturday 3/11 Long Ride Possib...
Last post by Sean Brennan - March 10, 2023, 06:38:27 AM
All,

Definitely rain Friday night, will it carry into Saturday? It's not clear but showers are very likely and most likely wet roads. Rain and your ride leader do not get along so, it may be a leaderless ride. The posted ride is a long 90 miles into Ramona which may not be the best idea with threatening rain. The link below is a "rainy day" route which is intended to keep you close to the start in the event that it does start to rain, you can quickly and easily get back to OCRRR.

There is a good chance I will not be at the start. Do what you think is best.

And keep in mind that there is a nice ride on Sunday, 52 miles into Fallbrook.

Club Rides & Events / New notification default on yo...
Last post by karlos - March 02, 2023, 11:04:03 AM
Default NCCC Forum settings for all current members have been updated so that you will receive an email for any new topics that appear under Club Rides & Events. That way you won't miss important last-minute announcements on rides as well as other things of interest to NCCC. You may turn off these alerts at any time by logging into the Forum using your membership login. When you visit NCCC Forum > Club Rides & Events you will now notice the RECEIVE EMAILS AND ALERTS on the Board. Your previous default was NO ALERTS OR EMAILS. You can click on that button to change your alerts as you prefer.

This is what a logged in member will see on the Club Rides & Events board, highlighting the new setting of which you may not be aware:

I hope you enjoy this feature and if you have any questions don't hesitate to email me at admin@northcountycycleclub.org.

Website / NCCC Forum Usage Tips
Last post by karlos - March 01, 2023, 10:37:28 PM
NCCC member tips for effectively using this forum:

  • Stay logged in every time you visit. Click on Login, top left. Enter the same username and password you use for membership signup and renewal. Select Forever for Time to stay logged on. Once logged in, your personal preferences and alerts are tuned to you. You also must be logged on and an active NCCC member in order to create a new topic or post a reply.
  • To return any time to the NCCC Home page, just click on the NCCC logo, upper left.
  • Set email notifications for the various NCCC boards you want to track. The most useful for you may be Club Rides & Events, For Sale by Members, Non NCCC Cycling Info, and there are a few others you may wish to follow, including Website where you are reading this. If you're not getting notifications for a board you want to follow, go to that board and click on the button that says NO EMAILS OR ALERTS, upper right above the posts, and select Receive Emails and Alerts. You will receive an email for every new topic on that board thereafter. You will also see alerts under the Alerts link, upper left to right of your name.
    SetBoardAlert.png
  • Setting the board notification as above only alerts you when a new topic first appears. If you want to stay abreast of further replies, you need to set notifications by clicking on that topic's NO EMAILS OR ALERTS button upper right of topic body and choose how to follow, with alerts only or alerts & emails.
    SetTopicAlert.png
  • Once you are receiving notifications in your email, the default is a link to the post in the Forum where you go to read it. There are a number of notification settings you can change by clicking on your Name, upper left, then click on Notifications in the pulldown. We recommend the following settings, although some may choose to also Receive message body in emails:
    SetNotificationPrefs.png
  • You also have control of your Name, upper left, that is shown. By default, your Name is now set to the membership username you chose when you joined NCCC. The Name in the upper left is best set to something all can recognize as that Name will appear in any posts or replies you make. Some have cryptic usernames that the rest of us might have difficulty deciphering. Just click on your Name, and then select Account Settings where you can set your Name to anything. You cannot change your Username which is hard-wired to your NCCC membership.

I believe Norval means March 1, not Jan. 3.
