A couple of suggestions, Mike. You want to post ride cancellations on the main board, "Club Rides & Events." If your display name is something that few recognize, like Foodog111884, you might sign your regular name at the end of the post. For a more permanent solution, just click under your name upper left and click on Account Settings pulldown. There, change your "Name" which is displayed on all your posts so everyone knows who you are. Default is your login name, which can be cryptic (but fun to decipher!).

This "Website" board is really for discussions how to use both the website and this forum. Hope this helps.

Club Rides & Events / 2/26 Sunday ride cancelled - F...
Last post by karlos - February 25, 2023, 09:33:51 AM
For the 3rd month running, bad weather will make the Forest Rd muddy, washed out in the low places, cold, and possibly even snowy at the towers, even if it stops raining at 3am tonight as forecast. We'll try rescheduling this epic jaunt out to the Santa Rosa plateau at the end of March. 4th time's a charm, eh?

Club Rides & Events / 2/25 Long Ride - Cancelled
Last post by Ursula Cunneen - February 24, 2023, 05:31:16 PM
As you all know, it is going to rain all day Saturday. Enjoy your trainers, Rouvy, Zwift or whatever indoor exercise apparatus will take the place of an outdoor ride. See you next Saturday!

I have planned 3 days of cycling in the foothills of the Sierras, outside of Fresno, on  April 13, 14 & 15. The rides will be 72 miles with 5500' of climbing, 57 miles with 5700' of climbing & 49 miles with 4000 feet of climbing. The hills will be ablaze with wildflowers. The rides will include cycling up to & around Bass Lake (alt. 3400'), the Shaver Lake - Wishon Reservoir region (alt. 6000') and the Tollhouse -Burrough Valley region (alt. 1600').We will plan to arrive in Fresno on April 12 & return to San Diego on April 16.  The type of accommodations (hotel rooms, VRBO, etc.) will be determined by the group. Each rider will provide their own transportation to Fresno (approx. 5.5 hrs.) & to the start of each ride (approx. 20 min.). Each person will be responsible to provide their own food for the rides.  These will be "group rides"; where we will regroup as needed, leaving no rider behind.  However, you should be able to ride at an average pace of 12 to 14 mph (Clippers pace) which includes the elevation gain of the long hills. The hills average a 6 to 9% grade with some short stretches reaching 16%.  If you would like more information or to reserve a spot please email Howard Garfinkel at hngarfinkel325@aol.com. Please RSVP by March 18, so that plans could be made for accommodations.
