This seems like the simplest way to conduct the approval process. Any others who want to throw their hat into the ring, please respond here, and we'll either adjust the poll or start over.
[Ursula, there are two little buttons at the top, next to "Yes" and "No". Put your hand on the mouse, slide it up and to the left...]

Karl,
I have read your instructions and logged in.  But guess what??????..... no little buttons.  Anyway, put my vote in for Jim, but if he wants to take a break from us whiners and have someone else lead for any given Saturday, there are already quite a few volunteers who would be happy to pull up the slack and lead the way.  And since we have all taken to giving each other nicknames and ribbing each other quite regularly lately, glad to know he has thick skin and can take it.  Jim may not be immune from this activity since it all makes the rides much more fun. :-*
Ursula

Jim will be an awesome ride leader. Thanks for stepping up Jim.

First order of business.....for those club members that cannot find the voting buttons.....exclusion from the Saturday rides. Clearly there is an intelligence issue and do we really want someone at that level riding next to us? I'm just saying......surprised they can find their shift levers.

Yea Jimmmmmmmmm.

As Ursula pointed out, there are many that are willing to help shoulder the burden if needed.

OK now I gotta work on my stop sign full stop skills:)

Ah hah, you aren't smoking something weird after all! I just noticed you are logged in as "ucunneen" which is your original Message Board login. You'll notice it doesn't say "nccc" below "ucunneen" as Sean's and most other NCCC member's posts do. Because you signed up for your membership this year with a different login name, you exist twice in the database. Only NCCC members are allowed to vote in polls. If you're not a member (like "ucunneen") you will see no buttons. If you logout of the Forum and then log back in as "ursulacunneen" you should be good to go. We'll think of some new nickname for your condition.

Guess what? Thanks to Karl's investigative work and patience with my computer skills, I followed his instructions and the little buttons magically appeared.  So, my vote is in!!!  I don't want to read any more remarks from the peanut gallery (Sean & Anthony).  You'll have to find something else to harp about which I will take graciously in the spirit of us NCCCCCCCCCC Long Riders.  But be forewarned, I can retaliate.
Ursula aka Normal Feet according to Karl Cunneen

Terrific, ursulacunneen-not-ucunneen. I think Frank may suffer from the same voting condition, but so far has avoided any ribbing from the peanut gallery.

Frank

Do you think I'm going to admit not being able to see the buttons?  Hah!

Hold on just one minute.......I am no computer expert so I will have to call on my friend Anthony S but it seems Urusula could not find the voting buttons not because of a "computer issue" but it sounds more like....she forgot her name. And Karl is making it look like some big "computer issue" that prevented her from seeing the buttons.

At the end of the day she forgot her name (cause by drinking, age, doping) and that is why she could not see the voting buttons. Or explanation 2 and 3, if only members can vote she is not a member, or she did not pay her dues.

Any of the 3 explanations still make you wonder and I will propose again to the new Saturday ride leader.....is this the type of member we want on our rides? Should we set up some voting buttons for that?

ANd now we learn another member cannot "see" the buttons. Another drinking issue?

Signed - green helmet

Sean, I see your points and will have to deliberate on them a bit longer, but I have a different issue with the items on this particular message string.....Ursala's use of "Peanut Gallery" in reference to (only) the two of us.

First, I believe she has a poor command of the English language, but what do you expect, she's German (supposedly.)  If you refer to wikapedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peanut_gallery, is discuss the origin of the phrase as hecklers in cheap seat disturbing a performer.  Neither the former, nor latter fit accurately.  Performer - maybe if Ursala were professional, or a diva, or a prima dona - no, there aren't correct.  ....and cheap seat....really....no road bike is cheap, so it just doesn't fit.

Maybe juvenile describes this but considering how old Sean looks and how poor my memory is, that doesn't fit either.

I also have to take exception to peanuts, they're such and ordinary legume and as a NCCC-RLR, we're not ordinary.  If we were in a gallery throwing things, they'd be more exotic legume, like the Egyptian White Broad Bean.

We're a team, so maybe the comparison is Ursala is the Washington Generals to our Harlem Globetrotters, after all..
Meadowlark Lemon as the fearless leader - Karl
Curly - in this context - me
Goose - well, Bill since he grabbed Sean's butt
......no this doesn't really fit either

I think the phrase, "Everyone's a comedian" might fit better....
Sean is Costello to my Abbott
Sean is Curly to my Moe with Larry being....Wade
Marx brothers? - Jeff = Harpo since he's quiet (on the board)and quick?
Seinfeld? - Ursala is Elaine, Frank as Newman?

1st base?, Who are we talking about
2nd, What did you say
3rd, I don't know

Certainly!

Jim, I'm not going to say whether i voted for you or not, but i was wondering if coming to a full stop at stop signs for a microsecond is OK, or if there are more requirements? (such as un clipping and putting at least one foot down)
