Hi,

I stayed up way too late last night sorting through and cleaning up my photos from yesterday. Here are the better ones.

We stayed for the start and I got them coming down Bernardo Center, then we barely managed to make it to Valley Pkwy and El Norte and I got some more, and then we stood at the finish line for over two hours and I got a few more. Some people who were sitting in chairs next to the sidewalk behind the barriers at the finish were there for five hours. One of the official cars that was well off the front of the race tried to park her car in front of us and boy did the crowd give her a ration. She moved the car around the block :-).

There wasn't a prayer of getting anywhere near the awards podium. It truly was wall to wall people for two or three blocks. Joe and I tried to find a position and by the time we got to where we could even see where we were, we were on the wrong side of the podium and too far away.  Looking forward to hearing everyone else's stories and seeing lots of pictures. Mauro got some at the top of Wohlford and we had at least one group on Palomar. Debbie sent me a few of her photos this morning.

P.S. - Does anyone know who the guy is sitting on the bench with Bob Roll? He looks familiar, and I can't figure out who he is.

Lou

It was a lot of fun on top of Palomar. I think 8 of us were there. I forgot my camera. But I think everyone else in the group had one. There should be some really good pics in that bunch. Did I say it was fun? For me more fun than the TdF.
Oh yeah, Greg can't throw a snowball to save his life. ;D
Lou...

Nice pictures - the fellow on the bench with Bob Roll is Jim Ochowitz (not sure if that is spelled correctly).  He was on the 7-11 team with Bob Roll, Ron Kiefel, Davis Phinney and others.  He is now a coach.

Cheers!

Hi Laura,

Thanks for identifying Jim Ochowitz. No idea where I've seen him before. Probably on TV at some time or another. I never would have figured it out.
