Burt,

Great deviation from the standard loop today.  Great group of guys to strugle with, misery loves company.

@ mile 32, we hit 22% grade, mile 40 showed 20% and mile 41 hit 31%.  Not to diminish a whole bunch of 12 to 18% thrown in for good measure.

Total gain for the day, 4300ft in 53 miles.

I thought I was pretty familiar with most of the roads in the San Marcos area, I am NOT!  Go on a Burt adventure if you dare!

For more of the same on another of Burtolini's rides at http://northcountycycleclub.com/photoGallery/2009/slides/burtoliniLaCresta.htm . The photo was at about mile 50 with more than 6,000' elev gain at that point. Burt took us on quite a trek that day as well http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/EL-TOUR-DE-LA-CRESTA-4

This is starting to sound like a King of the Mountains Challenge . . . LoL
