The annual NCCC July 4 (it's a Wednesday) Picnic will be held at Kit Carson Park, Escondido this year, 11:30-2:00 - click here for a map link to the parking. We will be at the Tree Lake Picnic Area #2 as shown in the attached park detail below. More details will be posted here and on the website regarding what the club will be providing, what you can bring, and what bike rides will be starting/ending at Kit Carson - start times will be set so that each ride's ETA is about 11:30. Main thing is to save the date and make sure your membership is up to date (remember your dues are more than made up by the picnic and holiday party if you attend).

Oh my!  That's the start location for the Pie Ride!
My Palomar senses are tingling!

Your NCCC will provide items to be grilled and drinks to be drunk. Based on the most popular items from last year (and to avoid giving so much leftover away) choices are:
NCCC-provided grill items (buns & condiments provided, too):

  • Sirloin beef burger
  • Salmon burger
  • Turkey burger
  • Veggie burger
NCCC-provided drinks:

  • Water
  • Coke
  • Diet-Coke
  • 7-Up
  • Diet 7-Up
  • Organic tea
Your VP Paul Nevins will be picking up the goods from Costco and wants to have an idea how much to buy. It would be MUCH appreciated if you would send him an email with your preferences/quantities to nc3vp@northcountycycleclub.com (please don't reply to this thread).

As usual, the rest of us can bring salads, desserts, fruit, veggies, dishes, and any kind of picnic fare to share!

Please add 7-UP and Diet 7-UP to the list.

Any idea what time this will be happening?

Thanks

Hmm. Pie then picnic - sounds like a good combo. We'd have to leave early - we'd want to get over Palomar before it gets too hot.

A real Pie Ride is a bit extreme if we are to be back for the picnic.
I think a more realistic goal would be to do just Palomar, out and back, starting early.

Start time will be 11:30. Ride leaders will put together routes in order to be there at 11:30. The picnic should last until about 2pm.

Karl, I'm getting veggie burger requests and organic tea. Its not a problem for me to add those two items.

I would hereby like to announce that there will be a small group going up Palomar leaving at 6:30 from Kit Carson on July 4th!
Should be back in time for start of picnic, since we'll have 5 hours.

The menu options are now closed.
If you have not yet ordered your food, you are out of luck.
