thank you so much to all of you who showed up and cheered myself and others on at the san luis rey bike race today... It felt realy awsome to have you guys there after my race....YOU guys and the club helped me get to this point and  i appriciate that a million,  keep the ruber side down and i hope to catch you all on the road soon

It was great to watch Lee, Gabe, and Mike Santoro working their tails off Sunday. The effort alone deserves congratulations. Lee gets an extra slap on the back (or whatever) for finishing on the podium with only 2 cat 3 gals ahead of her - truly awesome for her first USCF road race! I even stuck around to watch my 15 yr old buddy from Altadena, Ben Bertiger, finish 12th in the mens cat 3 road race. With one lap to go he was in a break of 5 guys with 50 sec on the field. He is really maturing (and to think it wasn't that long ago I was hauling him around on the back of a tandem). This year, he effortlessly hauled me around Palm Springs and would have rather ridden about 1hr faster...
