I'm not GPS savvy and I don't want to spend days reading about it - so I'm looking for a shortcut: advice.

I'd like to be able to tour in unfamiliar parts and not have to read detailed route maps.  What is the least expensive GPS system for bikes that I can download a route and the device tell me the turns I need to take as well as show me a map?

TIA,
beth

Beth:

This is the Edge that contains maps and you can input existing routes into to follow on maps.

The 305 also lets you follow the routes but doesn't actually have maps.  You follow the course as a line.  It costs less.
