Now that Jeff's Century Training route is over, it's about time for some adventure.
How about a cruise out to Yuma, AZ?

It's a nice ride of 204 miles and only 7000' of climbing, all in the first part.

Leaving Old Towne Transit Parking lot early Friday morning, May 14th.
We'll arrive in Yuma early nightfall.

Ride up through Ramona, Julian, down Banner Grade, south on S2 to the Yuha Cutoff-Hwy. 98 and then eastward through Calexico, the Imperial Sand Dunes and on to Yuma.

Optional return trip using alternate route on Old Hwy. 80/Hwy. 94 on Saturday evening, arriving Imperial Beach around Sunday afternoon. 174 miles Hows your training?

For those of you who haven't experiened this route, it's got it all.. City, mtns, big downhill, real desert riding, sand dunes, winds and HEAT!

If you're a week-end warrior, you might just skip this one & watch the Giro on TV!
If you're looking for something more, then this is your ticket!

This isn't a race, so leave your aero helmet, skinsuit & white booties at home!
Instead bring, butt creme, lip balm, E-caps & positive attitude!

We'll be cruising at rando pace and telling tall tales of our overblown exploits along the way!
It may seem like a big reach for some, but this route isn't that terrible at all!
We'll make sure everyone gets in, OK.

Plenty of refuel stops along the way too.

I'll be doing the video thing, so you can recant your heroic adventures on YouTube again!
