What a nice surprise visit from the Regular riders this Saturday. I shattered my clavical biking in the fog yesterday morning. I was headed to coach masters swimming at UCSD, and traffic from I5 was diverting to the coast highway because of the heavy fog. I was descending from Del Mar down the bridge toward Torrey Pines, probably 28mph. I saw the glare of headlights approaching behind me, looked back, and saw a car pretty far over to the right. I was where I should be on the road, next to the white line, but I freaked out and swerved to the right. Hit the curb and fell on the sidewalk. I thought it might be broken, but it seemed ok to ride, so I rode up Torrey Pines to UCSD. Showered gingerly, and by that time swimmers were arriving who helped me dress. One of them is an orthopedic surgeon who gets a lot of business from masters. He looked and told me to come see him at 9. Surgery that afternoon to install a titanium plate. I miss you guys already!

Wow, Jeff.  Sorry to hear about your incident.

I was riding down the coast to SD Friday morning too.  Lots of extra people and traffic all allong the way waiting for the Tsunami.

Do you think that your new titanium plate will help trip the traffic signals a little quicker?
