Sunday ride - big detour - sunny and little wind

I think we should cancel our annual Pine Valley / Sunrise Hwy / Pine Creek  (Noble Canyon) loop this Sunday as high winds are forecast. Some of you may remember trying this once before in the wind and we had to turn it into an out and back. The forecast for this Sunday looks worse than that ride and I have ridden it in heavier conditions - not fun unless you're into masochistic cycling. Pine Valley, down low has 25-35 mph winds forecast, with gusts to 55 mph. The Mt  Laguna, at the top, forecast is also for 25-35 mph, 55 mph gusts,  and a high of 41 deg. Let's meet at OCRR at 8:30 and we'll decide on a non-windy route. I will tentatively reschedule the Pine Valley loop for Sunday, June 12, weather permitting, as I know many were looking forward to this epic ride.

7 Sunday riders managed to follow the sun. Couser, Rice, Live Oak, and Green Canyons were totally protected from the wind. 70 mi, and 5,000 ft of climbing - a good day after all. Ya never know until you just come out and do it.... What a great day it turned out to be.
