Hello Ursula and Bill,

Speed Clean is the chain degreaser I talked about but did not know the name of last Saturday. I?ve used it twice so far with great results. Note: you have to lube your chain after cleaning.

See you all next Saturday,

Jeff

Jeff,
Thank you!  I will definitely try this.  My old stand by is Simple Green, but if this works better, I will try it.

Another much less expensive option is 'Oil Eater' from Costco online. It used to be stocked in the stores and may reappear. This stuff is amazing, the caked on muck just melts right off. It's biodegradable and harmless to tires and components.

I'm not riding next weekend, but wear sunglasses in two weeks - the glare from my newly-cleaned chain will be blinding!

Bill/Ursala/Jeff -

Can you write out all the interesting conversations you all have at the front that I miss since I can't stay with /get to the front with you, thanks!  Doing so will allow me to feel I actually rode with on the ride instead of just starting the ride with you AND also learn about these interesting tidbits you share.   ;) ;D

Anthony

I hope you are correct about this "Oil Eater" stuff. I just ordered 5 gallons of it online from Amazon. Better price than Costco.

Oil Eater shipping is a beast. I'll chip in for a gallon of the stuff if you're trying to save space in your garage. I'm trying to declutter my garage and adding several gallons of unkown stuff would not please Jill.  ;)
Karl

It's ONE 5 gallon tub and the shipping is FREE
