Hello All,

We had such a great turn out from the first hike that I have been asked to do another hiking event to help strengthen our legs.  Yesterday’s climb up Valley Center Grade on the bicycle was a good test from our first hike.  There have been some that have been off the bike for some time and hiking sure does help get you started again. Get ready for another adventure. We will be hiking up to Double Peak.  Weather perfect.  For those that want to bring your dog that would be great.

Date:  Monday, November 25
Time:  Departing at 9:00 a.m

Place: It is off of S Twin Oaks and Craven

Discovery Lake
650 Foxhall Dr
San Marcos, CA  92078
(760) 744-1050

This is from the site, but very do-able.  I find this not quite as steep as the Elfin Forest one we did last week.

Distance, and difficulty: The route described here covers 7.6 miles with 1932 feet of elevation gain/loss. It may be considered strenuous, but it can be completed in 3 hours or less. Also route can be shortened considerably if time is short or you only want an out and back to Double Peak. Although water is not available on the trail, it is available at Double Peak Park at the top as well as Discovery Park at the bottom. Both Parks have toilet facilities, picnic benches and children's play areas.

Let me know if you plan to be there so in case you get stuck in traffic, we can hold off on our departure.  Join us for coffee/snack after at the pub or coffee house.

Any comments or suggestions or concerns let me know.

Looking forward to see you,
