Comrades!

A few notes regarding the route planning for Saturday Regular group for 2015. There is talk of a wet winter and spring. I just want to make the riders aware that if there is a ride cancellation due to weather conditions, the route that was planned for that particular day will be rescheduled for the same Saturday of the following month, assuming there are no conflicts. Now, understand that if the roads are wet but it is sunny and clear, the ride will most likely be on, assuming there are no sections of the route that could be unsafe with wet roads. If it is wet at the start but promises to clear up quickly, the ride will most likely be on. Get some wool tights, wool socks, and a decent rain shell, and you'll be fine. If it is pissing down rain, stormy, gale force winds, snowing, sharknados, etc, the ride will probably be cancelled. I intend to continue with offering 2 routes once or twice each month. I will also be going back to many of the old routes that Jeff Gross has created, whether it is a complete route or just borrowing a piece. So expect some adventures and long route sheets.

As always, I appreciate feedback on the routes. Tell me what you guys want to do or where you want to go. If you have an idea about improving a section of a route, let me know and be specific. Some good examples of feedback are:

~ That particular section was nice, but I think it would be much better if we were to ride through in the opposite direction.
~ The break stop today was a great place. We should use it more often.
~ I've noticed that Such & Such Road has degraded quite a bit lately. Maybe we should avoid it right now.
~ We really enjoyed riding up Palomar and Laguna in one go. Next time can we do Kitchen Creek first?

Some examples of feedback I've heard too much of and cannot do anything about or are not helpful are:

~ Too many hills!  :'(
~ The route sheet today has too many turns. (I try to be concise. We ride in urban areas. Deal with it.)
~ There's too much traffic on this road. (You are traffic too.)
~ There are no bike lanes on that road. (Every road we ride on is a bike lane, regardless of markings.)
~ We should use that road over there. I don't know the name of it or where it actually goes, but it's better and we should use it.  ???

Merci et Bon Courage!
