Comrades!

This shall be my official announcement. December 26, 2015 will be my last day as ride leader for the Roadies regular group. I have had quite a lot of fun, but I did not plan on doing this for the long run. I'm not calling it quits because I'm bored, and I'm not leaving the club. I simply wish to focus on other cycling endeavors that require much more of my time and energy.

It is up to you, the club members, to volunteer if you wish to keep this group alive. There can be one leader, or there can be a few people that may wish to work together and alternate days or months. Any member(s) wishing to take over the leadership of the group should contact me, and I will address it to the board members for approval. Any potential ride leaders must be a member in good standing and are required to complete the TS 101 class successfully. I also suggest a Ride with GPS membership. It is the preferred method for route mapping amongst the ride leaders, and also to be made an admin of the group, should the new leader(s) wish to use it and the routes I have made. I also have all the documents that Jeff gave to me when I took over, which I can pass on. I'd like this matter to be settled by November so that any new leaders can start to run the rides and make an easy transition.

Any potential leaders should feel free to bring their own ideas and style to the group. Perhaps you preferred Jeff's more structured format, or maybe you want to pick 10 routes and just rotate through. Whatever works. Don't feel like you have to babysit or please everyone all the time. Just plan the routes and get the ride started.

Cheers,

Robert
