We showed up at OCRR for the 75 mile cruiser ride as listed on the web site. We checked the forums for any last minute changes, nothing there, so where was the ride? Hey ride leaders post your changes on the forum! Club rides are for all the club members not only a select few on an email list! Norval please have a mandatory instruction session for all ride leaders and designated alternates.

Please clarify which ride you were unable to fine. I see no 75 mile listed for any group (Cruisers, Roadies) for October 19th and there is no 75 mile ride posted on the Forum. Please clarify

And as you know there is a Saturday ride in which I believe you actively participate which is never posted and which is by virtue of the specific mail list restricted to an invited group. All attempts to have this posted as a club ride have failed.

There is a Cruiser mailing list which to the best of my knowledge and certainly my intent includes all club members who have ever joined an official Cruiser ride, yourself included, but which advertises as a reminder rides and events which have been previously posted.

Otherwise, there is information provided to those who register for certain events but the events themselves are open to all: example, a ride with lunch on October 30 or the Cruiser Century where SAG is planned and therefore registration with ride organizer Marjorie was requested - see Cruiser web page for both of these.

Both the training ride and century ride are listed as Cruiser Long Rides. The rides are posted under the 8:30 start time and OCRR location, no mention of any ‘invitation email’. As for my riding with Dolores or any other group outside of NCCC is completely irrelevant to this discussion, most club members ride with other groups as well. Club rides are for all club members not restricted to those on a private email list. Many of us have other interests and commitments which conflict with the NCCC ride schedules (as you yourself do when traveling for instance) so we therefore only get to ride occasionally with the club. I and some others review the routes and ride with the group which has the preferred route, some times the Roadies or Cruisers or Long Riders. You seem to assume that club members are locked in to a specific ride, not at all so, please read Karl’s invitation to the Sunday Long Ride.
Bottom line: all club rides must be accessible to all members and all pertinent information about the rides must be posted on the web site and forums in a timely manner.
