Hi all,

I have a set of wheels I want to rebuild, and my favorite guy just retired. Does any one have a shop or mechanic they would recommend and trust? Ideally I would supply my hubs and specify the rims, spokes, etc.

Robert, I've never met this guy but he's helped me a bunch sorting out my Campy wheels. He's not local (Boulder CO) but really, really knows his stuff and comes highly recommended by the folks on the Paceline Forum. Peter, Chisholm's Custom Wheels. http://www.vecchios.com/

I recall seeing a wheel building business on Santa Fe south of the Rose Canyon bike trail. It was in one of the industrial buildings that are along the east side across from I-5.

I've had good luck with local wrench, Gordon Yeager, who owns and runs https://www.velohangar.com in Carlsbad. Although Gordon is a general purpose great bike mechanic, he has rebuilt wheels for me. Most notably, I had sent my expensive HED Ardennes back to HED 3 times because of broken spokes. I gave up and had Gordon completely rebuild my rear wheel and it has never even been re-trued after ~5 years and 40,000+ miles.

Thanks guys. All good ideas I'll be looking into.
